Foreword of the book
Beyond all steps implemented to accompany future creators, business creation is still facing lots of barriers in France.
In our Nord Pas de Calais region, we now have a great number of youths, most of them from immigration families, who are qualified and ready to become future entrepreneurs, which is an asset for our region.
Despite their enthusiasm and sense of mobility and initiative, they mainly need an efficient network to help them fulfil their projects.
For many years, their integration has only been tackled from a social point of view.
Today it is time to envisage their integration from an economical point of view.
We have to speak the truth to make them true responsible economical actors using their competencies in specific fields.
This is what our CRE’ACTION policy that has been set up by CEFIR in Dunkirk since 2001 is aiming at.
We accompany but we also take the own story, the cultural and social environment of the project leader into account.
CRE’ACTION is one answer among others. It is adapted to one particular territory, backing on local actors and benefiting from European employment financial support in the EQUAL framework.
CEFIR has asked the expertise of ICAM, Institut Catholique des Arts et Métiers to work on this question.
This resulting study is a reflection on integration through economy for the benefit of youths from Maghreb immigration.
This research is a complement to our Euro Mediterranean reflections and based on one hypothesis :
« Integration through economy is a necessary condition for the social integration of migrants or youths from immigration ».
