The European Network of Initiatives of Economic and Social Integration (R.E.I.I.E.S.) is a non-profit-making association officially made up in 1999 and gathers organizations - public and private of various European countries.
In an abstract way, and since about fifteen year, the network was slowly created in the context of trans-national partnerships carried out within the framework of the European Community’s initiatives for employment (programs NOW, INTEGRA and HORIZON).
It consists of organizations which have in common the same engagement and interest for all the activities supporting economic and social integration on their own territories, even of vaster areas.
The Mission of the REIIES can be summarized as follows: "To increase the capacities and knowledge of the organizations which constitute the network, and which act for economic and social integration of populations in difficulty and contribute to the setting up of actions for the development of the third sector, and in the direction of the sustainable development, with a particular attention for collaborations with the countries of origin of the populations immigrated in the Member States of the REIIES".
In order to achieve this mission, the actions carried out by the REIIES thus have as a finality of:
- to support experience sharing, good practical, methods and of know-how
- by promoting the formal and abstract communication between its members
- to create debates between the members on topics of common interests and inherent to its mission and to create spaces for reflection
- to support and develop the knowledge and the information to the members related to the European policies
- to create a permanent system of evaluation of sound correct operation of its activities
- to promote outside the network the topics treated by the REIIES
- to promote trans-national collaboration among the members, by creating technical groups of work in charge of the development of sets of themes and projects intended to support the socio-economic integration of the populations in difficulty
- to develop, if needed, tools and/or services for the benefit of the members and according to requests of any organization having the same objectives as the REIIES
- to promote the entrepreneurship spirit and capacity and to support all initiatives which lead to the creation of jobs
- to analyse, evaluate and give an opinion with respect to the policies of the European Union in favour of the people in economic and/or social difficulty, in order to ease their implementation at local, regional, national, etc. level
- to become an interlocutor recognized by the European authorities, in order to collaborate with them and to influence the inherent policies with the mission of the network
All the members of the REIIES are implied in the concretisation of projects of socio-economic integration at the local or sub-regional level. They work, moreover, in the respect of:
- fight against any form of discrimination
- equality Man - Woman
- principles which melt the strategies of sustainable development (principle of integration, rationality, solidarity and participation)
The network also aims at the modelling of answers to specific problems from the point of view of trans-national transfers.
